and I've seen all body types wearing strapless, from the tiny to the overflowing There is nothing to stop a bride from wearing an elegant jacket or shawl, or under cover, at least for the ceremony but most brides don't choose to do that, instead going for a "the dress stops here look." I've seem strapless in the winter, in Wisconsin Yet! Of course strapless gowns aren't cheaper to buy but certainly have to be cheaper to make. Just think of the saved material and labor cost. It is easy to understand why the dress designers love strapless.
But even with modesty aside, a lot of these gowns are more a matter of a missed opportunity for added elegance. It was embarrassing for the Priest and I would imagine for some of the wedding guests as well. It seems the brides strapless gown left her a bit over exposed. Have you ever heard the story of the Priest, who didn't know where to look, when he was preforming the wedding of one couple. You can call me old fashioned, but I have never understood the immodesty of some of these gowns.
But why do woman want to give up what is practically their only chance in life to wear something with some sort of elegant sleeve and neck line. I'm not saying some of these gowns aren't beautiful, well the bottom half anyway. I simply don't get the attraction. Okay, maybe it's just me, but am I the only person in the world who is sick of strapless wedding gowns?
